BRIGHTLINE CELEBRATES NATIONAL TRAIN DAY BY HOSTING SCOUT TROOP FOR EXCLUSIVE BEHIND-THE-SCENES RAIL EXPERIENCE
MIAMI, FL (May 9, 2026) – In celebration of National Train Day on May 9, Brightline welcomed a Scouts of America troop from Melbourne for a special behind‑the‑scenes tour and rail experience designed to support the Scouts in earning their Railroad Merit Badge.
The Scouts explored Brightline’s modern rail facilities in Orlando, learned about rail safety and operations, and met with team members who shared insights into engineering, maintenance, and the technology behind Florida’s innovative intercity rail service. The visit concluded with a ride aboard a Brightline train to West Palm Beach, giving the Scouts a firsthand look at the passenger experience from station to seat.
“We’re always looking for ways to bring learning to life, and this experience did exactly that,” said the troop’s Scout Leader Daniel Penny III. “Our Scouts walked away inspired, informed, and excited about the world of railroading.”
Brightline CEO Patrick Goddard emphasized the importance of connecting with the next generation. “National Train Day is about celebrating the role rail plays in our communities and our future,” Goddard said. “Hosting these Scouts was a privilege. Their curiosity and enthusiasm remind us why investing in modern, sustainable transportation matters.”
Brightline remains committed to community engagement and supporting educational opportunities that highlight the importance of safe, innovative mobility.
